Money...

Is it everything?? I'm thinking of getting rich? Of getting rich quick...in anything! Writing, trading, etc. etc. etc. Not the lottery though...I refuse to play the Lottery.

But then the other side of my brain, the calm (lazy) side butts in and says, "What will you actually gain from being "rich"? It's more aggravation and what will you do with it? Will your daily activities change? The ONLY things it's good for is that you can live DEBT free! (and even that may not be a guarantee...who know how you'll will be effected with more and more money?)

So let's say over the next 2-3 years you become a millionaire (you can't wait too long either, since you aint getting any younger. Who know you may die of a heart attack within 1-2, you fat, dumb bastard!!).
Ok, so you pay off all your bills, mortgage, loans, fix your credit and you're down to probably $700k. (And who knows if you'll continue to make that much every subsequent years either!)

So then what: you gonna buy a jet and jet around the world? Really? With 700k? No, you can probably fly first class for a (long) while. Maybe take a REALLY nice vacation(s) and then buy a few cars to spread around. Maybe even help your siblings with some money. So that leaves you with, about $400k?? Now what?? (You're right I'm not adding any new moneies 'cause there aint no guarantee!) Plus add to that you'll have to hide you new riches, since EVERYONE will want some. 'I've heard' people just come outta the cupboards asking for handouts.

Ok so you now have about $400k left that you can invest in a high dividend ETF or some monthly paying mutual funds. That should give you some monthly income. But would your daily activity change? Would you get up in the morning as usual? Would your personality change? Would you have to stop taking out the trash? Putting gas into your car? Shopping? Cleaning the house?

Realize that if you delegate these chores to an outside paying party, your $400k coffer goes down. And for how long?

Where can you go? To the beach? in Dubai? That sounds cool, if you weren't a fat, ugly bastard that no one (especially you) wants to see in a bathing suit!!

So then maybe visit all the top places! Paris, London, Spain, Egypt, Australia, Antartica, etc. Right?"

Yes, I got all that, but that aiint me anymore. I don't have a desire to travel. Maybe a road trip through the US in a tricked out RV, but international travel doesn't do "it " for me.

"So you're left with making money for....."
